Bringing it all together
Much of the work of our Activity Plan is about linking the physical changes, which our work will bring about, to a greater understanding of the history of our villages and surrounding area. We want to create something, from that linking process, that will provide a lasting reminder. This activity, therefore, aims to record, in its broadest sense, the history of Skelton as seen through the other activities.
Our volunteers, led by the Skelton History Group, are carrying out the research and data collection for a booklet on the village and the Skelton Townscape project. This is an excellent opportunity to gain, or refine, skills in basic historical research, and to deepen and broaden your knowledge of the history and heritage of the village. If you are interested in getting involved with this work, please visit our volunteer page.
We aim to publish this booklet at the end of 2020.
