Interpreting Our History
Once the excavation of Boroughgate is completed in year 3 of the project, the site will be covered again to preserve it for future archaeologists. To provide a permanent local record, our professional archaeologists will work with the Skelton History Group and local schools to design, produce and install two “Interpretation Panels” next to the Boroughgate site. The text and images produced for these panels will illustrate both the work that has been carried out during the archaeological investigation and the history that has been revealed during the work.
Illustrated (right) is an example of the sort of panel that might be produced by this Activity. This one is located at the Cleveland Way viewpoint.
