Interpreting Our History

Following the completion of the excavation of Boroughgate, in year 3 of the project, the site was covered again to preserve it for future archaeologists.    To provide a permanent local record, the project has worked with our professional archaeologists, the Skelton History Group and local schools to produce some design ideas. These ideas were then given to a professional designer. The final designs can be viewed in this PDF  (please note that the file size is 11.4MB).

Whilst waiting for the interpretive panels to be designed and installed, our project’s volunteers re-established an old footpath access to Boroughgate, to allow the public to view the site and these panels.
